Raspberry Ketone Protects Kidney Damage in Diabetic Nephropathy by Improving Kidney Mitochondrial Dysfunction

نویسندگان

چکیده

Mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress play essential roles in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy (DN). The respiratory oxygen consumption status kidney mitochondria are closely associated with development DN. In this study, raspberry ketone (RK), predominant bioactive component extracted from raspberry, was applied to treat established DN mice model. This study investigated whether RK protects kidneys high-fat high-sugar/streptozotocin (STZ)-induced rats by inhibiting ameliorating mitochondrial dysfunction. Besides, models were injecting high-sugar/STZ (130 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection). animals randomly divided into control group (normal saline, ig), + (200 mg/kg normal (400 Metformin (Met) Met ig). Regular monitoring fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels observed mice. After 10 weeks drug treatment, each analyzed using ultrasound, euthanized humanely. Kidney weight (KW)/body (BW) injury, function, indicators determined. histopathological changes renal tissue after hematoxylin eosin (H&E) staining. results recommended that has a renoprotective function on improving stress.

Metabolomics reveals signature of mitochondrial dysfunction in diabetic kidney disease.

Diabetic kidney disease is the leading cause of ESRD, but few biomarkers of diabetic kidney disease are available. This study used gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to quantify 94 urine metabolites in screening and validation cohorts of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and CKD(DM+CKD), in patients with DM without CKD (DM-CKD), and in healthy controls. Compared with levels in healthy cont...

Harmine recover kidney damage induced by morphine in male rats

Harmine is a harmal-derived alkaloid with antioxidant properties. The morphine produces free radicals and plays a key role in the pathogenesis of kidney disease. This study was designed to evaluate the effects of harmine against morphine- induced damage to the kidneys of rats. In this study, 64 male rats were randomly assigned to 8 groups: saline and morphine treated groups; harmine groups (5, ...
